Had a great time at the L.A. Lit and Toy Show a couple weekends ago. My son was a real trooper waking up very early so we could make it to the LAX Hilton, and he handled the long day like a champ. It was wonderful meeting so many great people, making some new friends, and seeing a number of posters find new, hopefully forever, homes. My son even got Magnus Walker's autograph.Always nice to spend a day with fellow enthusiasts. Until next year...

I recently read about the passing of retired General Colin Powell. Doubtless, he performed a great public service to our country over the years. I also read about his predilection for vintage Volvos which I was unaware of. Over the years he had many and restored many himself with the exception of bodywork which he stated he wasn't adept at.  I happen to also be a Volvo man myself currently and drive a Volvo station wagon. This got me thinking about if Volvo created any posters during the earlier years and it turned out they did including this 1940s piece:...

Most of the posters I sell here on my website are archival linen backed. Why do I do this? 

Linen backing is the best way to preserve and stabilize your poster and provides a canvas for further restorative work.

Linen backing a poster on canvas requires three elements. Linen, acid-free lining paper and a Wheat starch solution containing an alkali buffer which when all combined together produces a stable - but reversible - acid free environment for mounting a poster.
